	Brana with watermelon 8/1998 We rented an apartment in east talpiot, Jerusalem, and enjoyed living an ordinary life, with daily siesta. Watermelon was delicious when we woke up each afternoon - especially as it was a heatwave! back to top

	Esther starting her felafel 8/1998 We didn't eat out - money was too tight - but we enjoyed eating felafel, in Sfat, Tel Aviv and, here, the Old City, when we entertained by Russian musicians.   back to top
	Frank & Brana study the small ads 8/1998 Our Hebrew came back quickly, even after 19 years. Here we enjoyed reading the local free paper, finding out about jobs, housing and local life.   back to top
	The Dome of the Rock 8/1998 On our first day we went to the wall, to pray for Derrick Nahum. Leo and I went on Tisha be'Av, and walked to shul every Shabbat.   back to top
